How One Swing of the Club Makes it a Game of a Lifetime

By GolfPRGuy
One of the greatest things about the game of golf is that anyone can play it. It doesn’t matter if your tall or short, young or old, a 20-handicapper or the greatest professional to ever play the game. The beauty is that for one moment, one swing, good or bad, you can be just like the pros. And if you are one of the lucky ones to have ever had that swing of a lifetime and made a hole in one, you know that the feeling is unlike anything in sports or life.blog april 2016
I have had four of them, before I was 22-years old, and witnessed 10 of them. I guess I am the guy to play with. Unfortunately, I haven’t had one for the past 25-years and I am still scratching my head at that notion.
In a nut shell that is the game of golf. Just a few weeks ago a young man made his first hole-in-one in front of non-other than Tiger Woods at the opening of his new course in Houston. Could you imagine? I can tell that young man one thing, its all down hill after that. He could break the world record for hole in ones, which is 59, and nothing could still ever top that one.
The youngest person to ever get a hole in one was just 4-years old, and Tiger Woods was 6. The oldest person was a 103 years old. Gary Player became the oldest player at the Masters, at 80-years old to record one on the Par 3 Course at the Masters.
The odds of getting a hole in one is 12,500 to 1 according to Golf Digest. Those odds might go down in the Gaylord Golf Mecca with its 15 courses including America’s No. 1 Par 3 course. Threetops offers golfers nine great chances at making the nearly impossible, possible. The premier Par 3 course averages over 40 hole in ones annually.
Lee Trevino can attest to that as he hit the shot heard around the world, when in 2007, he aced the par 3 7th hole during the popular ESPN Par 3 Shootout, which was worth $1 million. Not bad for one swing of the club.
Add in the 60 plus other par 3 holes and one 19th hole, and the odds of you getting an ace in the Gaylord Golf Mecca is stronger than any other destination in the Midwest.
If you are lucky enough to hit the almighty shot, we want to hear about it. Post your story on our Gaylord Golf Mecca Facebook page Facebook.com/GaylordGolfMecca with the hashtag #gaylordholeinone or share on Instagram using the same hashtag and we will send you a complimentary Gaylord Golf Mecca Passport, featuring 2 for 1 golf at all of our member properties.
